About IAPP
The Indian Association of Practising Pathologists (IAPP), has its origin as "Group of Seven". In the late seventies, seven eminent practicing pathologists in Pune met informally and regularly to discuss issues related to diagnostic laboratory practices and in particular, histopathology. Dr. Manohar Gharpuray was the moving spirit behind this.

Later, The group transformed into a informal association (IAPP) and Dr. Manohar Gharpuray became the first Founder President until his untimely demise in February 1992. His dreams came true in March 1993 when IAPP was registered as a society.

In the memory of late Dr. Gharpuray, IAPP holds "Dr. Gharpuray Memorial Oration" every year in February. IAPP members meet every month for academic lectures, updates and regular slide seminars wherein slides are contributed by IAPP members. The association also conducts symposia and CMEs at regular intervals.
